Wanneer we een dierbare verliezen, zoeken we vaak naar manieren om hen toch tastbaar dicht bij ons te houden. Bij Tadblu begrijpen we dat een herinneringssieraad veel meer is dan een mooi accessoire. Het is een blijvende verbinding, een bron van troost, en een stukje van degene die je liefhebt dat je voor altijd met je meedraagt. Maar wat betekent het om dit sieraad, en daarmee de herinnering, mee te nemen op reis? Vandaag delen we het bijzondere en ontroerende verhaal van een van onze klanten. Met twee van onze Tadblu herenarmbanden reist de drager, Valerio, de wereld rond ter nagedachtenis aan twee onvervangbare huisdieren: de Sphynx-katten Gizmo en Bubba. Familie voor altijd Gizmo en Bubba waren niet zomaar katten; het waren volwaardige gezinsleden, oftewel "surrogaatzoontjes", elk met hun eigen unieke karakter. Gizmo had iets heel menselijks over zich, terwijl Bubba de vrolijke noot in huis was die het gezin continu aan het lachen maakte met zijn onhandige streken. Toen dochtertje Cara werd geboren, namen de katten direct de rol van grote broer op zich. Ze begrepen instinctief hoe klein en kwetsbaar ze was en lieten met eindeloos geduld alles toe. Vooral Bubba en Cara waren onafscheidelijk. Na het overlijden van Gizmo en Bubba in het najaar van 2022, bleef er een grote leegte achter. Om de prachtige herinneringen aan hun leven, hun miauwtjes en het gezin dat ze samen vormden levend te houden, werd ervoor gekozen om een kleine hoeveelheid van hun as te verwerken in twee herinneringsarmbanden. Een vanzelfsprekende reisgenoot Vanaf het eerste moment voelde het dragen van de as-armbanden volkomen vanzelfsprekend. Van ’s morgens tot ’s avonds, op het werk of tijdens een verre vakantie: de sieraden gaan nooit af. "Vroeger beleefde ik geen vakantie zonder dat er iets van hen aanwezig was," vertelt Valerio. "Vandaag zijn zij aanwezig in mijn armbandjes. Daardoor voelt het alsof ze nog steeds deel uitmaken van al mijn avonturen." Het dragen van de armbanden maakt het mogelijk om Gizmo en Bubba letterlijk mee te nemen naar plaatsen waar ze zelf nooit zijn geweest. Samen nieuwe bergtoppen bereiken Tijdens het reizen krijgen de sieraden een extra diepe betekenis, vooral tijdens het hiken. Wanneer er een berg wordt beklommen, gaan Gizmo en Bubba in gedachten, en fysiek aan de pols, mee omhoog. Aan het begin van een pittige wandeling worden de armbanden even vastgepakt: "Allez jongens, tot straks... Boven op de top ben ik weer wat dichter bij jullie." Het bereiken van de bergtop, omringd door stilte en natuur, brengt een gevoel van rust. Op zo'n moment voelt de top dichter bij de hemel, en daardoor dichter bij hen. Troost uit kleine gebaren Een herinneringssieraad biedt op onverwachte momenten houvast. Soms helpt het om er onbewust naar te grijpen of even zachtjes over de kleine ashouder  te wrijven. Dat gebaar voelt soms heel even alsof hun kopjes weer gestreeld worden. Het brengt niet alleen tranen van gemis, maar ook tranen van vreugde om de liefde die er nog altijd is. "Hun verhaal stopte niet op de dag dat ze overleden. Het gaat op een andere manier gewoon verder. Ze hebben ondertussen al meer bergtoppen gezien dan ze ooit vanuit de woonkamer hadden kunnen dromen!" Door de herinneringssieraden ontstaan er niet alleen reflecties op het verleden, maar worden er ook samen met de herinnering allerlei nieuwe herinneringen gemaakt. Het advies van Valerio is luid en duidelijk: doe het. “Voor mij zijn deze armbanden onbetaalbaar. Ze zorgen ervoor dat Gizmo en Bubba deel blijven uitmaken van mijn dagelijkse leven en van alle nieuwe herinneringen die ik maak. Ze zijn niet alleen voor altijd in mijn hart aanwezig, maar ook letterlijk aan mijn pols. Een klein deel van hen reist elke dag met me mee. Misschien is dat wel het mooiste aan een herinneringssieraad: het herinnert je er niet alleen aan wie je verloren hebt, maar ook aan het feit dat liefde niet verdwijnt. Ze verandert gewoon van vorm. Kijk naar je sieraad en weet één ding zeker: waar het leven je ook brengt, jouw geliefden reizen altijd met je mee.
